Karl Marx was an eminent philosopher, renowned economist, historian, journalist, political ideologue, revolutionary socialist, great intellectual and multilingual expert. His birthday bicentenary is being celebrated in a spectacular way all over the world from May 5, 2018 onwards throughout the year.

Karl Marx obtained law degree and simultaneously studied Hegelian philosophy.

Marx was a great scientific thinker, yet there are some pseudo intellectuals who have distorted Marxism. They have written books to prove that Marxism is no more relevant in the contemporary world. Their main aim is to continue with the status quo and serve the existing bourgeois society.

The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has issued the following statement:

The $ 16 billion acquisition by international e-commerce retail giant Walmart of Indian e-retail Flipkart facilitates the backdoor entry of foreign capital to take over India’s huge multi-crore retail trade sector.

The proposal to allow FDI in India’s multi-brand retail sector was stoutly opposed by the Left parties. When in opposition, the BJP also opposed this move. Now in government, the BJP is facilitating the entry of foreign capital through the e-commerce route. This would completely destroy India’s retail trade that employs more than four crore people directly. Nearly one-fifth of our population is dependent on their earnings.

The Communist Party of India (Marxist) expresses its opposition to the agreement (MOU) arrived at  between the Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Culture and the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) and Dalmia Bharat Limited which virtually hands over the iconic Red Fort in Delhi to the Dalmia group for a period of five years in exchange for a  payment of 25 crores.

The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) condemned the astronomical rise in the prices of petrol and diesel in the country.

According to the statement issued on 27 April by Hari Singh Kang from the Central Committee Office, the sharp increase in the retail price of petrol and diesel is having a backbreaking impact on the ordinary people of this country. The price of the petroleum products have the obvious cascading effect on the essential commodity prices which the common man uses for daily life.

The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) strongly condemns the astronomical rise in the prices of petrol and diesel in the country.

The sharp increase in the retail price of petrol and diesel is having a backbreaking impact on the ordinary people of this country.

The price of the petroleum products have the obvious cascading effect on the essential commodity prices which the common man uses for daily life. The PB firmly expresses that this unusual rise which makes retail prices of petroleum products in India, the highest in South Asia is principally on account of the tremendous hike in mopping up revenues by the central government, through excise duties.

The collegium of the Supreme Court had forwarded the names of Justice K M Joseph and senior advocate Indu Malhotra to be elevated as judges to the Supreme Court.  After considerable delay the appointment of Indu Malhotra has been cleared. However, the government has not cleared the appointment of Justice K M Joseph.

With the reference cited above I would like to bring to your notice  that Saidabad police station  within the jurisdiction of Hyderabad city limits  has prepared FIR  against  cartoonist Swathi Vadlamudi of "Hindu"& Shabir Ahmed of " Times Now" in response to complaint lodged by "Hindu Sanghatan" an outfit most ultra rabid Hindu communalist organization "Vishwa Hindu Parishad".

The authorities of said police station without applying mind registered a case. They would have not responded mechanically without going through constitutional guarantees enshrined in our constitution under press freedom of fundamental rights.

West Bengal Panchayat Elections: Stop Attacks, Restore Democracy & Democratic Rights

There is an unprecedented attack on the basic democratic right to file nominations for the panchayat elections in West Bengal.

The ruling Trinamul Congress has resorted to a full-fledged assault on democracy and the rule of law by capturing the block development offices (BDOs), sub-divisional offices (SDOs) and even District Magistrate offices in some districts to obstruct and drive away opposition candidates from filing nominations for the three-tier panchayat elections.

This is a form of pre-election rigging which makes the election a farce.
