“Taking Care of Our Working Class” was the theme of a Town Hall meeting held on April 5 and attended by over 400 people. The People’s World and CPUSA sponsored the online meeting, which focused on the effects of the COVID-19 crisis on workers and how people and organizations are responding. A list of resources (at the end of this article) was provided to people who need assistance. Speakers talked about the effects on hospitality workers and renters, mutual aid, the CARES Act, and a call to action, while Cameron Orr and Audrey Starr gave musical performances to inspire during this difficult time.

Rossana Cambron, co-chair of the CPUSA, opened the meeting with a tribute to Comrade Frank Stearns, who died on April 3 from complications of...

NOTE: In February, three organizations — MADRE, Women Cross DMZ, and Grassroots Global Justice Alliance — convened a group of 23 women and gender-nonconforming people from across the United States in order to engage in a cross-movement dialogue on our collective work against militarism and war in order to examine, challenge, and reimagine US foreign policy.

While our convening occurred before...

Since our beginnings almost 20 years ago, CODEPINK has been using the slogan “Healthcare Not Warfare.” Never before has that rallying cry been more critical than today, as we face a health crisis of epic proportions.

Facing this terrifying pandemic, we see the hollowness of our national defense preparedness and the havoc we have wrecked across the world. The world’s superpower is not capable of...

There are specific reasons as to why Marxists ought to appreciate this movement. Electoral politics...

Last week, the government activated its two military hospital ships, the USNS Mercy and the USNS Comfort, which will be docked in Los Angeles and New York City.

The two 1000-bed military hospitals ships will...

“From here we stand in solidarity with the people of the United States who have become the epicenter of this terrible pandemic and that undoubtedly places our continent at an epidemiological and fatal risk”.

This was stated by the Executive Vice-president of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, who demonstrated the solidarity of the National Government towards the American people in the presence of...

In a new and dangerous twist to the coronavirus crisis, Donald Trump is now calling for an end to social distancing, perhaps as early as Easter. His goal is to restart the economy and avoid the worst impact of the coming recession.

Can you imagine: Trump in the crudest and most callous possible way is attempting to solve the crisis on the backs of our working class and people. It wasn’t enough...
