Das Warten hat ein Ende: Heute geht es endlich wieder mit unserer Klimaringvorlesung los – dieses Semester unter dem Titel „Hot Planet, Cold Facts“. Wie in den vergangenen sieben Semestern freuen wir uns wieder, euch heute Abend um 18.15 Uhr zahlreich im Audimax zu sehen und gemeinsam im Laufe des Semesters die Klimakrise in all ihren Facetten zu betrachten. Dieses Semester beschäftigen wir uns mit den Themenblöcken Climate Gouvernance und Transformation, Klimaschutz und -forschung an der Uni Hamburg, aquatische Ökosysteme und Klimagerechtigkeit und -bewegung.🌊
Für den ersten unserer beiden Einführungsvortrag freuen wir uns auf einen Vortrag zum Thema Klimakrise und Ungleichheit. Wo finden wir also die größten Ungleichheiten? Welche Gründe gibt es dafür? Und wie können diese wieder aufgelöst werden?
Als Dozentin haben wir hierfür diese Woche Helga Weisz eingeladen. Sie beschäftigt sich in ihrer Forschung viel mit dem Sozialen Metabolismus, also grob die Flüsse von Rohstoffen und Energie zwischen Gesellschaft und Natur. Ihr Fokus liegt hierbei auf sozialer Verantwortung und die Implikationen für die Klimakrise.

Your waiting finally comes to an end: Today, we’ll start with a fresh edition of our climate lecture series – this time titled “Hot Planet, Cold Facts.” As every term, we’re looking forward to seeing all of you tonight at 6.15 pm at Audimax lecture hall to start into a new term of learning all about the climate crisis. This year’s topics will be Climate Governance and Transformation, Sustainability and Climate Research at the University of Hamburg, Aquatic Ecosystems, and Climate Justice and Movement.
In our first of two introductory lectures, we’ll hear a lecture on the climate crisis and injustice. So: Which are the biggest injustices? Why does the climate crisis create or deepen injustice? And how can they be resolved?
To talk about this issue, we’re welcoming Helga Weisz. In her research, she focusses on the Social Metabolism, which describes the flows of materials and energy between society and nature. Her focus is on social responsibility and the implications on the climate crisis.
Enrolment is still possible at HAW and the University of Hamburg – so be quick!
